If you ask me the tv serise should begin directly after ROTS with both emporer palpatine and vader observing the construction of the death star. In this first scene palpatine and vader would be discussing the obvious fact they still have powerful jedi enermy to deal with. The emporer in is political postion knows only to well of the types of criminals locked up in the senate prisons. Amoung these prisoners is the exceptionally skilled young boba fett. Emporer palpatine knowing that boba is the unalterd clone son of the notorious bounty hunter janga fett who was the template for the clone army decides to release him from prison where boba as been since the clone wars after trying to assassinate mace windu. As the emporer can now freely do so in his postion of power. emporer palpatine instructs vader to employ Boba in to a new black ops unit consisting of the original clone commando unit delta sqaud were boba would develop deadly new skills to help him in hunting down the fugitive jedi along side vader.

Boba would eventually become delta sqauds new commander. This would bring boba heavily in to the tv serise. As boba would now be the shows main center of attention and the reason why boba fetts helmet is seen on the poster for the tv serise. which indicated straight away that he was the shows first main character and i said first not only main character. Having boba as a soldier of the empire would explain where and how he became who he is today. In later years the leave the empire to pursue his mandalorien roots. He would then find the remaining surviving mandalorien warriors on the moon of mandalore which he would become the ruler of after defeating its newest ruler and then carrying on his own live as the notorious bounty hunter he would also be keeping in close contact with the empire for high price bountys which would come directly from vader. This would make sure vader would appear in the serise

I feel like there's still alot more stories to be told about Darth Vader and The Emperor, it's impossable to believe where they left off in ROTS, would lead into a New Hope, we didn't really get to see Vader in his prime as Vader, we would be going from Vader as 20 something into vader at 40 or 50 something, Vader still needs to tear s**t up to me, and the Death Star only has one mission which leads to it's destruction, I don't know seems kinda incomplete as far as the movies are concerned. peace

"Deadwood meets Sopranos, minus the bad language and sex". So nothing like Deadwood and the Sopranos then? Shame because that would of been pretty darn amazing! I was hoping that it would air in 2010 but i can wait another year as i'm kinda enjoying the Clone Wars series at the moment. It does need to be aimed at an older audience though, if they want it to be a long lasting success that is!
I've also heard that there may be a new film in the works which leads me to think the pilot episode will be given the big screen treatment (like Clone Wars) at the end of 2010 and the series will air in the summer of 2011, just after the dvd release of the pilot. But i don't know!

"Minus the bad language?" I love the media hype machine which disects everything. They've been "casting" ever since 2006.

Gee, I hope it's not in 2011, even though it's only two years from now. I was hoping it will be in the summer of next year. I am very anxious for this.

Sorry guys, the “Deadwood meets The Sopranos” comment by either Lucas or McCallum was followed by "Minus the bad language" - the media is only giving you part of the quote. There will never be bad language and sex scenes in a Star Wars film or TV show.

I think many SF fans of "a certain age" are feeling pretty underwhelmed by this. After the prequels many are waiting to see how bad this will be as opposed to looking forward to it with a sense of optimism.

"Deadwood meets The Sopranos" hints at sex, violence, bad language and (very) mature story-lines. I can't see Lucas allowing that: conversely, it is just what the SW franchise needs - an injection of maturity and a post-watershed audience. I've said many times before that aiming the "new" Star Wars at kids was a bad idea because kids today are far more transient with their entertainement fixations that those in the 70s.

I think first Star Wars generation will prove to be a far more loyal audience than anyone would think, and if the show is pitched at them (I should say "us") I can see it surviving for a good few seasons.

And...may I be the first to make the "Pork Chop Express" crack...which I'm sure you've never heard before....
