Previously seen only helmeted and as a tiny smiley LEGO person, TV Guide posted the first look at Star Wars: Rebels protagonist Ezra Bridger.

Ezra is a teenage con artist on the Outer Rim planet of Lothal, where the Empire has one of its core TIE factories and the only future is the Imperial Stormtrooper or Pilot academy. A sort of cross between the wide-eyed Luke Skywalker and the cynical Han Solo, Ezra gets caught up in the revolution.

“To survive, instinctively every now and then when he’s in a jam he uses the Force,” says executive producer and former Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni.

“He doesn’t call it that. He doesn’t know that’s what he’s doing. He thinks he’s got some abilities that are a little strange every now and then, but they help him out. It’s instinctive, it’s reactionary.”

Star Wars: Rebels will air at the end of 2014 on Disney XD. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 is available now on DVD for £19.25 and Blu-ray for £25 from Amazon.co.uk right now.
