Sinister 2 has begun filming, and has confirmed its lead star: Rules Of Attraction‘s Shannyn Sossamon.
Arrow In The Head reports that the star of Wristcutters: A Love Story, A Knight’s Tale and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang will headline, and gives us some plot details, including the return of James Ransone’s Deputy So-And-So.
“In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of Wayward Pines) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death. James Ransone, who portrayed the concerned sheriff’s deputy in Sinister, will be reprising his character in Sinister 2.”
Original writer-director team C Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson have written the screenplay, while Citadel‘s Ciaran Foy replaces the Deliver Us From Evil director behind the camera as he busies himself with Marvel’s Doctor Strange.
The amount of time taken over Sinister 2 is definitely encouraging, and it’s great to see a leading role for Sossamon. If you’ve not seen Wristcutters, remedy that as soon as possible – Tom Waits flies in it.
