Shazam movie will be more fun than Batman V Superman

Will Dwayne Johnson’s Shazam movie tie in with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice?

Hot on the heels of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson confirming his role in Warner Bros’ Shazam movie, New Line Cinema have broken the silence to talk about the tone, as well as the film’s connections to the rest of the DC Cinematic Universe.

“It feels to me like Shazam will have a tone unto itself,” New Line president Toby Emmerich told Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s a DC comic, but it’s not a Justice League character, and it’s not a Marvel comic. The tone and the feeling of the movie will be different from the other range of comic-book movies.”

Emmerich added that Shazam “will have a sense of fun and a sense of humour. But the stakes have to be real.”

Shazam! film

That’s not to say that Shazam won’t be part of the same universe as the Man Of Steel sequel, but uniting any sense of fun with the hyper-sincere world of Zack Snyder is a challenge.

However, what with the success of Rocket Raccoon and the return of (SPOILERS!) Howard the Duck in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, we can’t 100% rule out the inclusion of Hoppy the Marvel Bunny…

Maybe just 98%.
