Scream without Sidney?

Scream writer Kevin Williamson has hinted to fans that Neve Campbell will not be returning in any capacity for a relaunch of the slasher franchise. As reported by Bloody Disgusting, Williamson said this in a recent post on his Twitter page:

“Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks.” This clearly does not bode well for those hoping to see some familiar faces appearing in a new Scream movie.

At this time the plot surrounding this new Scream trilogy is still unknown. Wes Craven has declared an interest to helm another Scream project, and further to this he has confirmed that a deal has been set in place for Williamson to write a new instalment in the series. Both Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette are in talks to reprise their roles.
