Get excited, Buffy fans: Charisma Carpenter has officially joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s new comedy-horror anthology series Scream Queens.

Carpenter portrayed Cordelia Chase on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its sister series Angel for eight years. For Scream Queens, she will be playing Ariana Grande’s mother in a recurring role.

Additionally, the series has been confirmed to be landing on FOX on Tuesday 22 September in the US after star Emma Roberts posted about it on Instagram yesterday.

The first season of Scream Queens will revolve around the mystery of the Red Devil killer that used to stalk the rooms of the Kappa sorority house at Wallace University, killing off students. Twenty years later, the killer returns to wreak more havoc.

Joining Carpenter, Grande and Roberts in the cast will be Lea Michele, Skyler Samuels, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Nick Jonas, Diago Boneta and Jamie Lee Curtis.
