Contrary to all speculation and rumour, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up for a back nine order.

Variety is reporting the news, which is sure to pleasantly surprise fans of the series, who had been bracing themselves for an imminent cancellation announcement following declining ratings and a seeming lack of interest. There is no news on whether the show will last past its second season yet, of course, but we’re crossing our fingers.

Sarah Connor’s storytelling has gone from strength to strength with each episode this season, expanding the story of the Terminator mythos and providing quality entertainment every week. The story takes place in a divergent timeline from the films, with their own plot taking place after Terminator 2: Judgment Day and jumping forward in the future from there.
