Resident Evil: Afterlife images emerge, optimism absent

by Samuel Roberts

“COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!”

residentevil2New images of upcoming survival horror movie Resident Evil: Afterlife emerged today.

The images come from Trailer Park on MySpace, and depict a number of returning characters from the movies and new players derived from the videogames. Paul W S Anderson will be directing the picture.

The movie stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller. The latter two play videogame characters Claire and Chris Redfield, respectively. Fans of the game – particularly of Resident Evil 5 – may find it odd that the skinny Wentworth Miller has been hired to play a character that does, by all accounts, resemble a  horse, but hey, if I was a Hollywood casting director I wouldn’t be writing this right now.

Resident Evil: Afterlife will be released on September 10th, in the US…in 3D! Go and play all the Resident Evil games. They’re fantastic, especially Resi 4 and 5.

Hey don’t mock… I may be of the minority but I really enjoyed the Resident Evil films (yes, even Apocalypse), So Afterlife should be fun. Wonder how they’ll handle Chris Redfield, as Extinction’s Albert Wesker was criminally underused… :)
