All those looking forward to the sixth instalment in the Resident Evil film series (currently tentatively named Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) have another reason, as it has been confirmed by Deadline that Ali Larter will be returning to the role of Claire Redfield.
Having previously appeared in third and fourth instalments Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil: Afterlife, she was presumed dead after the big tanker explosion at the start of Resident Evil: Retribution, along with her brother Chris (played by Wentworth Miller – who’s rumoured to be returning, although nothing has been confirmed yet), although in light of this news it seems perhaps not. Alternatively, she could be a clone.
The sixth Resident Evil film will see the survivors of humanity band together with the Umbrella Corporation as they face off against the forces of the Red Queen – although hopefully not from the strategically unsound vantage point of the White House. Paul WS Anderson will direct again, with Milla Jovovich confirmed to be back alongside Larter.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is currently poised for release in 2016. For more on the biggest horror movies, pick up the latest issue of SciFiNow.
