Prometheus 2 is now Alien: Paradise Lost

Ridley Scott reveals new title for Prometheus 2

So, after that discussion about tying the Prometheus movies back into the Alien franchise, Ridley Scott delivered a pretty definitive answer when he revealed the sequel’s title.

Speaking to HeyUGuys, Scott responded to the question of how Prometheus 2 would fit into the series by saying “Well actually, really it’s going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost.”

“It sounds intellectual, but there’s a similarity to it, that’s where it stops.”

Later on, HeyUGuys caught up with him at the premiere of The Martian and asked him why Paradise Lost.

“Well, because we’re heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented. We’ll go back to the back door of the very first Alien that I did 30 years ago.”

This seems to be a little more concrete than yesterday’s new story, but obviously it remains to be seen just how much the movie actually ties in to the original film…
