Natalie Dormer’s meteoric rise continues as the star of Game Of Thrones and The Hunger Games has signed on to lead Patient Zero.
Deadline reports that Dormer will star in the film which “focuses on an unprecedented global pandemic that causes the evolution of a new species. An aggressive form of rabies turns the infected into predators, addicted to violence. An inexplicably gifted human survivor with the ability to speak the new mutant language leads a hunt for Patient Zero and hope for a cure.”
The last few years have seen Dormer make some excellent choices and build an impressive CV, including non-genre projects like Rush and Elementary (oh, and let’s not forget that she played Door in the Neverwhere audio book. Oh, and The Fades). With such attention grabbing roles as Margaery Tyrell and Cressida, it was only a matter of time before her first big lead role and it looks like this is it.
Patient Zero is directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters, Anatomie) and written by Mike Le.
