Rumours began to circulate after a poster at producer Don Murphy’s message boards by the name of ‘EndTimes’ stated definitively that the director had been fired from the production after poor performances at test screenings. The poster then alleged that Stephen Baird had been brought in to reshape the film. SciFiNow contacted a spokesperson in Paramount’s theatrical publicity department, who categorically denied the rumours, saying that they were “absolutely” untrue.

GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra is scheduled for a 7 August release nationwide in the United Kingdom. The film stars Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid and Ray Park among others, and is based off the popular GI Joe: A Real American Hero toy line from Hasbro.
