The upcoming Cinemax TV show based on Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta’s Outcast has cast its leading man and found a director for the pilot.
Deadline reports that Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Gone Girl, Wristcutters: A Love Story) will star as “Kyle Barnes, a young man who’s been plagued by possession since he was a child. He sets out to seek answers, only to uncover something that could end all life on Earth as we know it.”
He’s joined by Gene Hunt himself, Life On Mars star Philip Glenister, who’ll play “Reverend Anderson, a hard drinking, hard gambling West Virginian evangelical preacher who believes he’s a soldier in God’s holy war against evil.” Annabelle star Gabriel Bateman has been cast as “8-year-old Joshua Austin, a young boy who lives across town who appears to be possessed by a demon and has a mysterious connection to Kyle.”
The pilot will be directed by Adam Wingard, the man behind SciFiNow favourites A Horrible Way To Die, You’re Next and The Guest. This is a very exciting team that’s been brought together for this supernatural horror. We’ll be keeping close tabs on it.
You can pre-order the first volume of Outcast for £7.50 at Amazon.co.uk. For more genre TV news, check out the latest issue of SciFiNow.
