Noomi Rapace has been cast in upcoming Will Smith sci-fi vehicle Brilliance.
Deadline reports that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Prometheus star is in final negotiations for the film version of Marcus Sakey’s novel, directed by Julius Onah.
Brilliance is set in “a world where a rare set of people are born with extraordinary abilities and are called “brilliants.” At the centre of the story is a federal agent with great hunting gifts who is drafted to hunt down a terrorist, another such brilliant who intends to start a civil war.”
Smith will play the federal agent, and Rapace will star as the terrorist. The Swedish actress has one hell of a busy slate at the moment, with Tom Hardy dramas The Drop and Child 44 due for release later this year, Tommy Wirkola’s clone sci-fi What Happened To Monday? and thrillers Alive Alone and Unlocked in pre-production, and Prometheus 2 hovering somewhere in the ether.
