Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot has gotten some pretty shocking press right off the bat, but Raphael star Alan Ritchson (Smallville, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) has struck back at armchair critics in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“The frustrating thing for me since I’ve signed on is that you hear that it’s already got a reputation,” Ritchson said.
“I think people assume they know what it’s going to be about, and those people are wrong. The assumptions, everything you read online is wrong.
“You want to tell everybody how great it is, and you can’t really say why, but it is.”
Ninja Turtles is due in cinemas 16 May 2014. Pick up the new animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rise Of The Turtles on DVD for £7.49 from Amazon.co.uk.
