The ever-busy Nicolas Cage has been cast in supernatural thriller Pay The Ghost.
Variety reports that Cage has landed the lead in the film directed by Uli Edel (The Baader Meinhof Complex).
Cage will be playing “a hard-working NYU English professor bucking for tenure when his 8-year-old son mysteriously vanishes from a Halloween day parade.”
Interestingly, the article notes that the producers sought Cage out after seeing his recent acclaimed performance in David Gordon Green’s Joe. The Baader Meinhof Complex was a critical darling on its release in 2008; can we expect a higher calibre of supernatural thriller?
Pay The Ghost is currently casting its female lead and will begin shooting later this summer.
