Next Generation casting and a Halo Reach short

First up, we have this little gem of an internal memo, released several years ago on Slice Of Sci-Fi but only just picked up by other outlets.

So what do you think? Would you have preferred to see Tim Russ as Geordi, or Reggie Jackson/Kevin Peter Hall/WESLEY SNIPES for that matter? How about Yaphet Kotto for Picard or Mark Lyndsey Chapman for Data? Interesting stuff.

Next up, the Halo Reach advertising engine marches boldly on with another of their infamous live action shorts, this time taking a softer approach to the downfall of the titular colony.

I have to say that I’ve loved every live action Halo release, from Neill Blomkamp’s famous Landfall feature through to the Birth Of A Spartan featurette and the ODST shorts. It’s all great stuff, and I’m perpetually staggered why studios wouldn’t think that this would clean up at the box office.
