Neve Campbell joins Scream 4

Neve Campbell joins Scream 4 and there’s plenty of announcements from Dimension Films.

PHHWdMMLLVZJMNThere’s big news from the Dimension Films camp as news surfaces that, contrary to previous rumours, Neve Campbell is joining the cast of Scream 4. This casting development isn’t concrete yet, mind, but as reported by Variety the signs are good for Campbell appearing as scream queen Sidney Prescott once again.

There’s no word yet if she will be starring in all three instalments of this newly proposed trilogy. But for the time being it looks like she will be joining fellow screamers Courteney Cox and David Arquette in time for a spring shoot. The film is set to begin rolling in April/May 2010 and the publication states that Wes Craven is in talks to direct.

Bob Weinstein was on hand to talk about these exciting developments at his company, and in a declaration where he stated: “I’m heading back to my franchise films,” Weinstein marked out a heady list of films on his roster. These included 3D outings for Spy Kids 4 and a third Halloween, plus reboots for the likes of Children Of The Corn, Short Circuit, An American Werewolf In London, Scanners and Hellraiser. It is clear that we will be seeing a lot more from Dimension over the next year.
