Fast & Furious star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed on Twitter that he’s entered talks with Warner Bros for a role in a DC Comics-related movie – possibly Zack Snyder’s Batman Vs Superman-smackdown, Man Of Steel 2.
An obvious bit of casting would be for Kryptonian-crippling bone-faced beefcake Doomsday, Johnson certainly has the
acting chops physique for that, but perhaps the “cool bad assery” is in fact another member of the Justice League to go with the recently cast Wonder Woman and rumoured Green Lantern.
Maybe Johnson will be playing Aquaman, who has undergone a more recent transformation into a brutal warrior king.
While the wrestler-turned-actor doesn’t fit the blonde-haired, blue-eyed look of the King of Atlantis, the character’s not so iconic that this particularly matters from a branding point of view.
There was a time when Johnson was linked to a Lobo movie, based on the anti-hero alien bounty hunter of the same name, so perhaps this is now back on the cards? After all, with Sinister Six, Guardians Of The Galaxy and Big Hero 6 movies all in development, there’s definitely more obscure characters making the journey to the big screen…
