Lucifer TV show pilot casts the Morningstar

The Prince Of Darkness has been cast for Fox’s Lucifer TV pilot

Tom EllisThe last we heard about Fox’s Lucifer TV series pilot was that it would feature the Morningstar “helping the LAPD punish criminals.” Now, they have a star.

The Wrap reports that Tom Ellis has signed on to play the title role in the pilot about the Devil giving up his kingdom in Hell to open a bar in Los Angeles, directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld). Ellis is known to legions of TV viewers from his work in Miranda, and he also appeared in The Secret Of Crickley Hall and The Fades.

Apart from the casting of Ellis, there’s no further news about the show, but we can expect more plot details to trickle out as more roles get cast. We’ll wait and see whether it sounds more like the character from the pages of Vertigo’s The Sandman, or whether that troubling procedural aspect starts to take precedence.
