Let The Right One In is rightly regarded as one of the best horror films in recent memory. It’s already gone through a respectful US remake courtesy of Matt Reeves, not to mention a West End theatre show, and it’s getting an American TV series.

THR reports that Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and actor/screenwriter Brandon Boyce will adapt John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel into a TV show for A&E. The network was reportedly in a bidding war with Showtime.

The original novel and film (directed by Tomas Alfredson) told the story of Oskar, a young lonely boy who befriends Eli, a strange girl who moves in next door to him. As she teaches him to stand up for himself, he starts to realise that she is not who she appears to be…

It’s tempting to give in to our first reaction, which is outrage, but it’s important to remember the recent run of very good TV shows based on films, like Hannibal. A&E is the home of the entertaining Bates Motel, but we’re going to keep a sceptical eye on this for now…

You can buy Let The Right One In on Blu-ray for £6.87 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest horror news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
