Legends Of Tomorrow casts its new Jonah Hex

Find out who will try to get him right his time in Legends Of Tomorrow

In the wake of new in the previous week that Jonah Hex would be showing up in Legends Of Tomorrow, we now have confirmation about who will be playing the scarred cowboy, as Johnathon Schaech has been signed on to play the character.

There’s a good chance that frequent TV watchers will recognise Schaech, who has recurring roles in the likes of Ray Donovan and Star-Crossed, as well as appearing in an episode of Sleepy Hollow. The scarred, surly bounty hunter will apparently encounter the Legends Of Tomorrow team during one of their time-travel excursions, with the show’s official synopsis describing him thus:

A true legends of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He’s been battling outlaws and gangs for awhile now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation.

Those of you who watched the original Jonah Hex movie will likely remember that it wasn’t the best (despite the unusually impressive cast), but since when’s that ever kept The CW down? They didn’t seem too worried about utilising Matt Ryan’s portrayal of John Constantine, despite the failure of that series. Moreover, judging by the reaction to this news, the character still has a huge fanbase, and everyone deserves a second shot, right?

Schaech joins a cast that already includes the likes of Arthur Darvill, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Ciara Renee, Falk Hentschel, Victor Garber, Franz Drameh and Casper Crump.

Legends Of Tomorrow will air on Sky1 later in 2016. You can find out more about the characters and the comics that inspired them by picking up the latest edition of 100 All-Time Greatest Comics.
