It’s been a while since we had any good, solid Man Of Steel news to report, but here we are: Laurence Fishburne, Morpheus from The Matrix and some nutter in Predators, has been confirmed to play Perry White, the editor in chief of the Daily Planet.
The first black actor to take on the role – though there’s a precedent with Michael Clarke Duncan’s Kingpin in 2003’s lukewarm Daredevil movie – it’s tempting to wonder if this is Zack Synder’s way of saying, ‘Hey, this isn’t your grandfather’s last son of Krypton’.
Either way it’s a long overdue change to Superman’s predominantly white supporting cast, and we’re pretty damn excited.
