Krampus casts Fargo star for Trick ‘R Treat director’s latest

Michael Dougherty’s twisted Christmas horror comedy Kampus gets a real good leading lady

krampusWe’ve been eagerly awaiting any news about Christmas horror comedy Krampus, the new film from Trick ‘R Treat writer-director Michael Dougherty, and now two stars have been cast.

THR reports that Fargo‘s Allison Tolman, who played dogged detective Molly Solverson, and Emjay Anthony, who played Jon Favreau’s son in Chef, will take the film’s two lead roles.

The site reports that the film “is a twisted horror comedy centering around a Santa Claus-like ancient entity who punished bad kids. Tolman and Anthony will play mother and son in a family that is under the demon’s attack. Anthony’s character is essentially the lead of the movie, as his is the one that has to step up to save the day.”

Tolman was absolutely superb in Fargo, and Trick ‘R’ Treat is one of the finest Halloween movies ever made, so we’re a little bit excited about this one.

Krampus is set for a UK cinema release on 27 November 2015. You can buy Trick R Treat on DVD for £6 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
