Kick-Ass trailer whoops up a storm

by Shaun Davis

Matthew Vaughn’s adult adaptation gets its first promo.

PHjshqljRSqPnjThe first trailer for Kick-Ass has finally received its trailer bow, and from first impressions things are looking good for this offbeat comic book adaptation.

Following a killer opening gag we are introduced to Brit newcomer Aaron Johnson, who puts on a believable New York accent as central character Dave Lizewski. Similarly, Chloe Moretz shows off some feisty fighting skills as Mindy Macready (aka Hit Girl), and overall you really get a feel that director Matthew Vaughn is keeping this film in the same spirit as Mark Millar and John Romita Jr’s comic series. So it’s all good news at the teaser trailer stage, comic fans.

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think on the comments thread below. Could this topple Iron Man 2 as the primo superhero movie of 2010?

Kick-Ass is released on 16 April 2010, courtesy of Lionsgate Entertainment.

I’ve never heard of this comic book since reading it in ScifiNow but I must say it’s looking every bit as adult as Watchmen and Iron Man 2. Forget Spiderman 4 next year I’m looking forward to this!
