Jonah Hex in for reshoots?

by James Rundle

Comic adaptation casts for new parts.

jonah_hex_poster_comic_conJonah Hex will reportedly be undergoing nearly two weeks of reshoots.

The comic book adaptation, which stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox and John Malkovich in the lead roles, has also released casting sides related to the new footage, according to Spoiler TV.

Although an element of reshooting is common on nearly every film, it’s rare that there is such an extensive period of them. The film’s plot revolves around a legendary gunslinger in the old American West, who is aiming to stop a madman intent upon loosing Hell on Earth. The casting sides have been included below.

[CASSIE] – wife of ‘Jonah Hex’ (Josh Brolin). Native American. Pretty, young, sexy.
[TRAVIS] – age 9 (to play younger)… Must be a match to Josh Brolin and Native American ‘Cassie’.
[JEB TURNBULL] – son of ‘Quentin Turnbull’ (John Malkovich). 30 – 35. Skinny, southern accent. Needs one or two days for prosthetics.
[PRESIDENT ANDREW JOHNSON] – 50-60. Look alike, if possible.
[ADVISOR] – to President Johnson. Younger, 1870’s version of a “West Wing” character.
[DEAD GUY] – late 20s/30s. Scary looking.. May need a day for prosthetics/possible make-up.

Jonah Hex is scheduled for a 2011 release.

Still looking forward to this no matter what happens. Reminds me a little of 2000AD character Defoe, which is A Good Thing by the way. Keep us posted Scifinow on this intriguing film!

I’ve been reading Preacher comics the last couple of months and Jonah Hex sounds just like it, although I believe the Jonah Hex comics are 20 years older? But Josh Broling is cool and if Mastodon does the soundtrack the music will awesome.

Preacher’s way more sci-fi than Jonah Hex, which wasn’t really until it went all post-apocalyptic.

I’m ambivalent towards the film, to be honest, and I’m far more interested in a Sam Mendes-directed Preacher.

      I did not know that.

Sam Mendes directing Preacher screams awesome.
