In addition to Drew Goddard writing Netflix’s flagship Marvel show Daredevil, Twilight and Dexter writer Melissa Rosenberg – long associated with ABC’s attempted to get a Jessica Jones TV show in motion – has signed up as writer and executive producer, according to Deadline.

Based on the comic-book Alias by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, Jessica Jones was a former C-list superhero-turned-private eye, whose world naturally overlapped with minor league heroes and villains like those of Netflix’s Hell’s Kitchen universe.

In the comic she had a long-standing relationship with Luke Cage, aka Power Man, and at one point Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, hired both Cage and Jones as bodyguards.

Agents Of SHIELD is showing now on Channel 4. You can buy Avengers Assemble on DVD for £10.99 or on Blu-ray for £14.99 from Amazon.co.uk.
