Jenna Coleman is quitting Doctor Who, reportedly, again

Is this the final chapter in the “Jenna Coleman reportedly quitting Doctor Who” saga?

Remember last year when everyone thought Jenna Coleman was leaving Doctor Who during the Christmas Special? Well, everyone thinks Jenna Coleman is leaving Doctor Who again.

The Mirror is reporting that Coleman and her character Clara Oswald will leave at the end up the upcoming series to take a role in a £10 million TV series about Queen Victoria on ITV.

Their source states “Jenna clinched the role of Victoria a while ago but it’s been a very closely guarded secret. There is a lot of excitement about this series, which has Sunday night written all over it.”

They state that Coleman will leave before the Christmas Special. She’s the longest-serving companion since the 2005 revival, so we wouldn’t be surprised if these rumours were true. There’s been no statement from the BBC about it yet so stay tuned.

Doctor Who Series 9 premieres on 19 September on BBC One HD in the UK and BBC America in the US. Get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the series and read interviews with the cast in the latest issue of SciFiNow.
