Jason Lee to helm time travel comedy

by Shaun Davis

Earl Hickey plots a trip back to the swinging Sixties.

PHeTXihnDuUXikJason Lee will be stepping behind the camera to direct Get Back, a time-travel comedy set in Sixties London. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the My Name Is Earl star will helm this project, but as of yet there is no word if he will be starring in it. The film is being produced by Matt Berenson and features a plot where two music lovers travel back in time to the psychedelic era, and one of the pair somehow gets embroiled in a love triangle with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Lee’s previous trips into the genre have seen him providing vocals for Disney Pixar’s The Incredibles, CG sleeper hit Monster House and a slew of Kevin Smith movies. Producer Berenson has a slightly more dubious CV, with ‘highlights’ that include Daddy Day Care and its sequel Daddy Day Camp. Yikes. Fingers crossed this promising comedy isn’t constructed along the same lines as the aforementioned.

Lol – Lee is a very funny man as seen in his great series My Name Is Earl so to hear that he is in a time travel comedy could be a hit! Not sure about that other dude though due to the awful Daddy Day Care films. File this under Midly Interested.
