James McAvoy talks Wanted 2

by Shaun Davis

The Wanted star discusses plans for a sequel.

Picture 1In a recent roundtable interview James McAvoy has hinted that plans for a Wanted sequel are currently underway. As reported by Sci Fi Wire, McAvoy said the following about a festive phone call he received from director Timur Bekmambetov:

“I got a call from Timur just as the bell struck 12,” says McAvoy. “He said, ‘I will call you in two weeks and maybe have something to tell you then.’” Although the director didn’t divulge on plot, and we are still none the wiser about this film, McAvoy seemed confident that Bekmambetov required him to feature in this proposed follow-up movie.

Wanted – an adaptation of a Mark Miller comic series – was released in 2008 and racked up an impressive worldwide box office gross of $341 million. As previously reported by SciFiNow, this Wanted sequel has been in the pipeline for some time now.

It has a daft plot – to say the least – but I think Wanted is pretty damn fun. I may be alone of this one, though. Either way I suggest checking it out.

Cheers, Shaun! Can’t be as muddled as Watchmen was though can it? Just watched the classic The Addams Family and Addams Family Values last night, and what do you think of the openers for Heroes and Being Human? I thought they were great!
