Is Heroes nearing the end?

by Shaun Davis

An insider reports signals the end for Tim Kring’s superhero show.

Picture 1Sources over at NBC have indicated that the current season of Heroes could well be the last, according to E! Online.

The news follows reports that Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy  – aka Mohinder Suresh – has been cast in a new series, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. This appointment prompted a studio insider to say the following about Heroes and its ailing fourth season:

“Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone,” stated the unnamed source. This short but to the  point statement speaks volumes about the current state of this superhero series. At its peak Tim Kring’s brainchild commanded 16 million viewers an episode, but this current run of episodes has enjoyed low ratings around the 5 million mark. This does not bode well for a fifth season.

It’s a real shame Heroes is floundering, as it started so promisingly. Season 4 has yet to air in the UK (I will still watch it as I have stuck with the show) but as the ratings suggest, a fifth season seems unlikely. As long as they tie up all the loose ends and reach a satisfactory conclusion then I’ll be happy. R.I.P Heroes…

It’s passed it’s best so I won’t be too sad to see it go.

Yet another show succomes to falling ratings. I really like this one, having watched it from the first episode. As you say kevin, I hope it will go out with a satisfactory ending.
