How It Works nominated for Maggie Award

by James Rundle

Imagine’s newest launch recognised by prestigious gong.

001_HIW003_smallHow It Works magazine, the latest and most successful launch from Imagine Publishing, has been nominated for a Maggie award. The recognition comes off the back of a nomination for a PPA award earlier in the year for the title, which has also posted record sales since its first issue.

“Our ‘Brain Power’ issue really embodies everything How It Works has been set up to achieve,” said deputy editor Helen Laidlaw. “Our mission is to feed the minds of science lovers and this cover says it all for us. The whole team were thrilled when we heard that we’d been nominated for a Maggie – especially for a cover of which we’re so proud. We just hope that the many people who read and enjoy the magazine will continue to support us and vote for How It Works.”

The Maggie awards the best magazine cover in a specific category every year, and is open to a public vote. How It Works is in competition with four other publications for its third issue cover, which was chosen, according to editor-in-chief Dave Harfield, “as it is visually striking and reflects the tagline of the magazine – ‘the magazine that feeds minds.’”

Members of the public can cast their vote by going to http://www.themaggies.co.uk . All voters receive a gift voucher from the award towards magazine subscriptions.

never picked up this magazine but sounds like an interesting buy… Are the first few issues (especially issue one) still available?
