Has Supernatural’s Lucifer been cast?

Michael Ausiello, the entertainment columnist for EW, has said that Mark Pellegrino has been cast in the role of Lucifer for the fifth season of Supernatural.

Citing anonymous sources, Ausiello revealed that the role would be a recurring one rather than a main, with the Lost actor assuming the part in the first episode of the popular show’s next outing, due to air in September.

Pellegrino’s career has lasted for over 20 years in Hollywood, his first appearance being in Fatal Beauty alongside Brad Dourif in 1987. Since then, he has landed roles in Lethal Weapon 3, Mulholland Drive, Criminal Minds and An American Affair. Recent television parts include the role of a Fulcrum agent on Chuck, Rita’s ex-boyfriend on Dexter, and Jacob in Lost.
