The cast of Hannibal Season 3 just keeps getting better.
True Detective spoiler alert!
TV Line reports that True Detective‘s Glenn Fleshler has signed on to play the role of Cordell, the personal assistant to Hannibal’s resident scarred monster Mason Verger.
Fleshler is well versed in serial killers, having played one in the brilliant HBO show. His performance as Errol was utterly compelling, and he’s a great choice for the quiet, reserved Cordell. You need to be a certain kind of man to look after Mason Verger, and TV Line describes the show’s take on the character as quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy…[but] attentive and gentle with Mason. He’s a professional who cares about his work, but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as his boss — and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman.”
Cordell was played beautifully by Željko Ivanek in Ridley Scott’s Hannibal, but we’re confident Fleshler has the chops to take on the role. Mason Verger is now being played by Joe Anderson (Horns), having replaced Michael Pitt.
