Zombie has stated before that he will not return for any sequels (his comments should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt, though, as he once said that he would never direct a remake himself) but TWC has announced that a sequel movie has already been greenlighted and that it will be released in cinemas too, rather than going the straight-to-DVD route.
