Out of the many things we liked about Guardians Of The Galaxy, its propensity to pick popular faces for supporting roles was one of the most welcome, with the likes of Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro all garnering memorable back-up slots. Thankfully, it would appear that James Gunn is taking exactly the same approach for the sequel, and Sons Of Anarchy fans in particular will get their engines revved up over the news that Tommy Flanagan will star in Guardians Of The Galaxy: Volume 2.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Flanagan (best known for playing Filip ‘Chibs’ Telford in the biker-drama, in addition to starring in the likes of Gladiator, Braveheart and Sin City, as well as popping up in Gotham recently as Tom the Knife) will play an important member of the Ravagers – apparently the right-hand man of Michael Rooker’s Yondu. There’s more information of a spoiler-y nature on the site, but we’re going to choose not to repeat it here. We’re good like that.
Flanagan joins a cast that already includes the returning Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn, with new additions including Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan, and James Gunn back on directing and writing duties.Guardians Of The Galaxy: Volume 2 will be released in cinemas on 28 April 2017.
