Speaking to The Daily Beast, Gotham star Ben McKenzie revealed that we can expect to see the parents of Dick Grayson, the first Robin, appear in the Batman prequel show.
“The Graysons may appear this season,” he confirmed. “I’m not 100 percent sure yet, but I think so.”
Showrunner Bruno Heller confirmed the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, adding, “We’re going to do a prenatal origin story for Robin down the line. There are no MRIs involved. There’s an episode coming up where we learn how Robin’s parents got together.”
In the comics, Dick’s parents were circus performers, who along with their son made up the Flying Graysons acrobatic troupe. Perhaps we can be expecting Haley’s Circus to roll into town some day soon…
