Gotham has added to its already extensive cast of future Bat-villains with the annoucement that Nicholas D’Agosto has been cast as Harvey Dent, the future Batman adversary known as Two-Face, reports Collider.
D’Agosto previously starred in Final Destination 5, and in addition to showing up in TV shows like The Office and Don’t Trust The B**** In Apartment 23, he may be remembered by genre TV fans for showing up in nine episodes of Heroes Season 2 as West Rosen. More recently, he has had a regular role as Dr Ethan Haas in Showtime’s acclaimed Masters Of Sex.
In keeping with Gotham‘s tone, we would suspect that this version of Dent is the pre-psychopath version (although this will probably change throughout the course of the show).
So far there have been three different incarnations of Dent on the screen: Billy Dee Williams’ good egg in Tim Burton’s Batman; Tommy Lee Jones’s out-and-out comic-book baddie in Batman Forever, and Aaron Eckhart’s tormented do-gooder in The Dark Knight. It’ll be interesting to see what category D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent ultimately falls into.
Gotham will start to air in the UK on Channel 5 from Monday 13 October at 9pm. Read about the comics that inspired the TV series with the 100 All-Time Greatest Comics Bookazine.
