Ghostbusters 3 brings back another original star

There’s been another addition to the cast of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters film

Anyone out there claiming that Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie is too far removed from the original two films are quickly running out of ammunition. Following the news that original stars Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson would all be returning in various cameo roles, it has been confirmed that yet another familiar name is coming back, with Ain’t It Cool News confirming that none other than Annie Potts – aka snarky receptionist Janine Melnitz – will make an appearance.

And with that, we have the missing piece of the jigsaw – we’re going to accept that Rick Moranis coming out of retirement is a bit too much to hope for. It’s unknown whether she’ll be playing an original character or reprising her old role, but it’s exciting news nonetheless. Our smart money is on her laying the verbal smackdown on the team’s new receptionist, played by Chris Hemsworth.
