According to THR, Hannibal and I Origins actor Michael Pitt has been cast alongside Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Ghost In The Shell live-action film.
Pitt will be taking on the role of the villainous and vengeful Laughing Man. In the original manga series, the character is a corporate terrorist hacker who keeps his identity a mystery to video feeds and cybernetic eyes by superimposing an animated logo over his face.
Joining Pitt and Johansson is Pilou Asbaek (Lucy), who will be playing Batou. Snow White And The Huntsman‘s Rupert Sanders is directing the film and Ari Arad (Iron Man), Avi Arad (The Amazing Spider-Man) and Steven Paul (Ghost Rider) are producing it.
Ghost In The Shell fans have been waiting for the film for a loooong time, so it’s great to get some other news than just ‘Scar Jo’s supposed to be in it…’
