FrightFest 2015 opening and closing films announced

Heads up, horror fans! The opening and closing films for Film4 FrightFest 2015 are revealed

Cherry TreeHorror fans can start getting ready for August as Film4 FrightFest has unveiled the opening and closing films for the summer celebration of the genre.

The fest will kick off on 27 August with the European premiere of Cherry Tree, from director David Keating (Wake Wood) and starring Anna Walton (Hellboy II, Soulmate).

The film tells the story of “a young girl, Faith (Naomi Battrick), in an attempt to save her father’s life, makes a fateful pact with Sissy Young (Anna Walton) head of a sinister black magic coven.”

Tales Of HalloweenClosing the festival on 31 August is the hotly anticipated horror anthology Tales Of Halloween, created by Axelle Carolyn, which gets its European premiere. A very exciting line-up of directors, including Neil Marshall, Darren Lynn Bousman, Axelle Carolyn, Adam Gierasch, Lucky McKee, Dave Parker, Paul Solet, Ryan Schifrin, John Skipp & Mike Mendez tell seasonal tales of terror with a cast packed with genre favourites.

The full line up is announced on 2 July, so keep an eye out!

This year’s event takes place at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Sq between Thurs Aug 27 & Mon Aug 31. Festival and day pass sales will go on sale Sat July 4 at 10.00am and will only be available online. Single tickets will go on sale on July 25. Full booking details will be announced on Thurs 2 July.
