Friday The 13th reboot director is David Bruckner

V/H/S director David Bruckner chosen to direct the new Friday The 13th reboot

JasonPlatinum Dunes’ Friday The 13th reboot has found its director in David Bruckner.

Bruckner is best known for directing the ‘Amateur Night’ segment of anthology horror V/H/S and 2007’s cult horror The Signal.

The Wrap reports that he is Platinum Dunes’ choice to reboot the series, produced by Michael Bay. The plot details are currently unknown, and the rumours that the new film will be found footage have been neither confirmed nor denied.

The Signal is an underrated gem and Bruckner’s V/H/S segment was one of the film’s standouts (guys’ night out goes very wrong), so he’s certainly an interesting choice.  Hopefully the film can measure up.

Friday The 13th will be released Friday 13 May 2015. You can buy The Signal on Blu-ray for £6.96 at Amazon.co.uk.
