Horror masters Maury and Bustillo crowdsource next film

The directors of Inside and Livide turn to crowdsourcing

Among the LivingJulien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the directors of the superb French horrors Inside (A l’Interieur) and Livid, will be crowdsourcing funding for their third film, Among The Living.

Bloody Disgusting reports that the film will star Béatrice Dalle and “turns on three youngsters who skip school, wander around an abandoned amusement park and suddenly see a woman in chains being dragged through a field by a man in a clown’s mask. Worse still, the masked man catches a glimpse of the boys.

The directing team have stated that they resisted a move to America as they would have to give up creative control (They were linked to the doomed Hellraiser remake at one point), even though finding financing for horror films in France is reportedly very difficult. Film funding via websites like Kickstarter continues to be a hotly debated topic, but this could be an interesting case. Inside was a brutally effective and punishingly gory experience, while Livid was a beautiful art-house horror that showed their interests went beyond what a pair of scissors could be used for.

Bloody Disgusting also revealed some exlusive promotional artwork:
