The first teaser for Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief has made its debut. Directed by Chris Columbus, the film is an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novel, The Lightning Thief.
Set in modern times, Riordan’s tale tracks young Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman), who has just made the discovery that he is in fact the son of Greek water god Poseidon. He soon embarks on an adventure that sees him trying to rescue his mother, reclaiming Zeus’s treasured lightning bolt and, most importantly, preventing a war between the mighty gods.
As well as directing, Columbus is producing this feature alongside Michael Barnathan and Karen Rosenfelt, while Craig Titley has written the screenplay. The cast also includes the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Catherine Keener and Uma Thurman.
