First look: Inception

picture-110

The first teaser for Christopher Nolan’s Inception has been released online. The short trailer was screened in cinemas with Inglourious Basterds last Friday, and judging by the footage we are in for a mind-bending experience.

Plot rumours for this film revolve around the concept of entering people’s minds in order to retrieve/plant/mess with information. Warner Bros. has described its property as being “a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.” The trailer sort of confirms this premise with plenty of fascinating imagery and broad visuals. One thing’s for sure: Nolan certainly hasn’t lost his knack for framing a cityscape in a foreboding manner. Count us in as thoroughly excited about this one.

Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy. It is scheduled for release on 16 July 2010.

Fucking A. I watched The Departed again today, which reminded me how good DiCaprio is, so that has gotten me extra excited about this trailer/teaser. Looks like something very dark(Nolan, duh) and disturbing.

[...] First look: Inception – Christopher Nolan is more or less the darling of cinema after his efforts with The Prestige, Batman Begins, and the entertaining, but possibly overrated Dark Knight, and fans are clamouring for any news about his relatively star-studded Inception. Now the trailer’s here and…well, click the link and see for yourself. It’s just amusing how everyone’s pretending to be interested in anything other than news on the third Batman film. I’m guilty as well. [...]
