Farscape comes to Blu-ray

Cult sci-fi show gets a second chance to shine

“My name’s John Crichton, a bleary, near unwatchable astronaut,” as the intro to the Farscape Definitive Collection DVD boxed set should have gone but didn’t. Essentially the 1999 DVD releases repackaged for Christmas 2010, 1999 standard definition wouldn’t pass muster played on an iPhone in space year 2011, and as for the lack of subtitles, and portable TV-sized aspect ratio… yotz!

Now all 88 episodes of the four seasons, plus Peacekeeper Wars miniseries, have been remastered in stunning high definition for a long awaited Blu-ray release (out November 14) that executive producer and master of puppets Brian Henson describes as “Better than they’ve ever looked before.”

Extras include over 15 hours of bonus footage including 29 episode commentaries, multiple featurettes and brand new documentary – Memories Of Moya: An Epic Journey Explored.
