Klingons should be like they where in TNG, They should have kept the klingons. Spock was supposed to have a big fight scene with the romulans with some weapon but was replaced with the phaser scene near the end.

Frankly, I was disappointed the Klingons were cut from the final film. Even with the helmets, it would have been interesting to see the worthy adversaries on the big screen. As for Worf's headpiece, the cast and crew of TNG, especially by the movies, were calling it "The Turtle," lol. Pretty apt description. As for the person saying the Romulans looked too much like the Vulcans...have you watched The Original Series? Yes, they used the same make-up because of budget, but they looked exactly like the Vulcans, except for the gold helmets they wore. I never liked TNG Romulans with the raised brow line. That said, though, they probably should have made Nero and his crew look like TNG's Romulans since they were from that time period. To paraphrase Sir Arthur Conan Doyle when called on about inconsistancies in his Sherlock Holmes stories, "what does it matter, as long as I hold my reader." Does it really matter since the movie was excellent and so many people went to see it?

Oh man I don't like how they have changed the physical anatomy of the Klingon. The reason why Klingons have that high ridge is due to an actual tactical advantage in hand to hand combat--head butting. This sucks man. I still have my doubts about this reboot star trek. Now that they are changing everything I am really having doubts

I'm not sure about the ridges- I like them, but c'mon. Worf's forehead looked like a washboard. The Klingons definitely have to have darker skin though. That's how they always were.

The Klingons cut from the new movie were apparently wearing some kind of protective headgear that meant you never saw their foreheads, thus no need for the head-ridges in the make-up. I believe this was also done to give Abrams the opportunity to go with a different look should he decide to have the Klingons front and centre in a later sequel.

Given that the Klingons have had the head-ridges in every incarnation of the franchise from The Motion Picture onwards and they have become almost as accepted as Spock's ears, my guess is that they'll keep the ridges but perhaps tone them down. Some of Work's head-ridge appearances (particularly in TNG S1) made him look like Lister in that episode of Red Dwarf where he had space mumps (i.e. totally ridiculous).

I hope they remember that Paramount screwed themselves over by explaining why Star Trek TOS Klingons had no ridges. Now the Klingons have to have no ridges. Which is just too bad because personally I liked the ridges but if the Klingons are going to be villains again they better not have freaking ridges.

Oh and the Romulans looked a little too much like Vulcan, just saying.
