I grew up watching Blake’s 7 with my grandfather; if sky is going to remake it then I hope it does the original credit. I liked Avon, and Villa added the humour. I would love to see Blake’s 7 back on Television, or the big screen. Yes everything was cheaply made, and stood out as fake, but at the time we did not care, we connected with the characters’ the ships and of Corse the computers, whoever came up with the design of the liberator was brilliant as it looked so cool, and stood out from the backdrop, the plot was great and a lot of people could see real life in it. I for one hope it works out and comes about. I was and always will be a big Blake’s 7 fan.

Just a rumor, but there is a NEW, TOTALLY original re-conception of Blake’s being in the works at BBC
It has the name, but is a whole “‘nuther thing”. Very different!

I wish everyone the best of luck with this venture. Blake’s 7 is a show that really deserves a revival – the core concept and characters are what made the show so enjoyable, and they’re timeless. I’m a huge fan of the original, and certainly not precious about a modern remake. I’d love to see them do something as dark and daring as the Battlestar retooling. The Blake audio reimagining was excellent (the recent ‘early years’ audios, not so much). It worries me, though, that over a year after the initial announcement it’s still at the draft script stage. Surely we’d be lucky to see this before 2012? 2011 would make sense, as it could take advantage of the 30th anniversary of the show’s last series. Fingers crossed this all come together!
