After a long silence punctuated only by snide asides, current Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has made his first unambiguous statement regarding Harry Potter director David Yates’ proposed Doctor Who movie.
“To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team,” said Moffat on Twitter, “star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot. David Yates, great director, was speaking off the cuff, on a red carpet. You’ve seen the rubbish I talk when I’m cornered.”
On the subject of red carpets, MTV News got the following out of Yates at the BAFTAs, “We’re principally looking for a writer, and we’ll start with that. Everything has to start with a great script, so that’s more important than [casting].”
Casting? Red carpet? Who do we believe?
