Speaking to the Doctor Who Magazine, 10th Doctor star David Tennant has confirmed they’ll be no classic Doctors appearing in the 50th anniversary special.

The magazine repeated an earlier quote from Steven Moffat – who has reintroduced the Silurians, the Great Intelligence, the Ice Warriors and introduced Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart’s daughter over his run – saying, “It is important you don’t turn it into a fanfest. We can’t make this all about looking backwards. It’s actually got to be the start of a new story.”

Doctor Who is airing now on BBC One. Doctor Who Series 7 Part 2 will be available to own on 20 May 2013. Pre-order it on Blu-ray for £21.50 or on DVD for £17.75 from Amazon.co.uk.
